A Leira 116 refers to a farm located at km 116 of the French Way of St. James. Hundreds of pilgrims pass in front of A Leira every day, but from now on, only a few will be able to sleep there.
Located 1 km from Sarria, “O Carballal” is located on an ancient Celtic castro. Formerly used as a pilgrims’ hospital, it is currently inhabited by three families: “A Casa do rato”, “A Casa do Leirón” and “A casa do Xaboneiro”.
A Leira tourist camp is located on a 14,000-metre estate. Its boundaries are a carballeira to the north and a pine forest to the south.
Respecting the vegetation of the area and using noble materials such as wood almost entirely, A Leira aims to transport its guests to a unique enclave, where nature, the land, relaxation and simplicity are paramount.
It is the ideal reward as an end of stage, or the perfect start to begin the experience of The Way of Saint James
A Leira 116 is a destination for pilgrims, families, couples, friends… anyone who wants to enjoy nature in its purest form, tranquility and a magical rural setting.
